4-24-01Sand Playdough (uncooked) 4 cups clean sand 3 cups flour 1 cup water 1/4 cup oil Combine all ingredients together in a bowel. Knead it until it forms a ball. Add more water if too dry or more flour if it's too wet. The children in my preschool love this dough, it combines sand table play and play dough, they never want to put it away. Good for children that are very tactile.
9-9-00Make really fun and natural "play" "dough" by using oatmeal, flour and water!! 2 parts oatmeal, one part each of water and flour. Knead until soft. It smells good, feels good and stays soft longer!! It is also very cheap!! Enjoy!!
4-12-00Silly putty type play dough 1. take liquid laundry starch 2. pour into vat, dish pan, etc. 3. add Elmer's glue 4. work the glue in the liquid 5 once it gets doughy and non sticky, pull it out 6. work it on a flat surface (tray, table, etc.) 7. add food color 8. work in more starch if it gets tacky 9.clean up little hands with starch 10. store in air tight container Daylene 1 1/2 Cups of flour 1 1/2 Cups of ground spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice) 1 Cup salt 1 Cup water (you may need to add a bit more depending on how dry the dough is) Mix everything together. Knead the dough until it is pliable and is not sticky. Have the children use cookie cutters to create ornaments. Bake at 300 degrees for a half hours. Check the ornaments, if they are not hard enough, bake for another 15 minutes. These ornaments smell GREAT even after they have been baked.
Date: 7-24-99FOOLPROOF PLAY DOUGH Here's yet another kool-aid variation my students ( and my own big kids at home) love. Try using it while still warm too. 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup salt 1 Tbsp. alum (in spice display at grocery store) 2 pkg. unsweetened Kool-Aid or other brand 3 Tbsp. cooking oil 2 cups boiling water Mix dry ingredients well. Add oil and water. Stir quickly, mixing well. Knead with hands when cool enough to handle. Store in air-tight containers. Mine has lasted as long as 3 weeks before the smell and soft texture have gone. Have fun! 10-15-98 Name: carolin 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup salt 2 pkgs kool aid 3 tbls of oil 2 cups of boiling water Mix all dry ingredients Mix oil and water Add wet to dry and mix well Very hot at this point wait about a minute or so then start to mix again Add flour to dough if needed (probably need another 1/2 cup to a cup) Mix well until dough is smooth Add just enough flour so it is not sticky, don't add too much or when it cools off it will be hard Enjoy!! Sensory Playdough 10-15-98 The following playdough recipes are not only fun, but also provide wonderful sensory experiences. They are great to smell and touch! Add the food coloring to the water and mix into the dry ingredients. 3. Knead until pliable. 10-6-98 Name: Laura This is a great idea to use with pre-schoolers and early elementary age children. There are no specified amounts that I have used. Place at least a cup of applesauce into a bowl and then begin to add cinnamon until you have a dough mixture. It takes quite a bit of cinnamon. The dough will be soft and easy to form into shapes. It also smells great.Allow the children to make shapes using their hands or cookie cutters and then set aside to dry. If you leave them out to the air it could take up to a week for the dough to completely dry. I often place them in the oven on low for a couple of hours after a day or so and that will help the dough dry faster. These make great holiday gifts. 8-18-98 Name: Jen E-Mail: adman@mnsi.net OATMEAL PLAYDOUGH 1 part flour 1 part water 2 parts oatmeal Mix ingredients. This in NOT edible.
