Have the kids paint a small paper bowl green and/or brown. Cut out legs and a head for them to glue onto the bowl. They make very cute turtles.

Another way to make a paper bowl/paper plate turtle is to let toddlers glue torn, green construction paper to the back side of the bowl/plate. two shades of green looks even better. Still glue the little head, feet and tail to the underside of the "shell" so they stick out.

You can do a negative space painting picture of a turtle by: cutting out holes in the shell, taping it over another sheet of paper, and letting the children paint on it. The holes might not be all covered by paint, but that's o.k., because it's their project. Both papers should be cut in the shape of a turtle.

Paper Bowl Turtle

Take a small paper bowl and let the toddlers paint it green. Cut out legs and a head and let the kids glue them onto the bottom of the bowl. Add wiggly eyes and you have a very cute turtle.
