Have a green party. Serve lots of green foods (Green Veggies are great) Let the children wear green hats that they decorate themselves and let them make a table cloth by coloring on banner paper with green markers and crayons. Remind parents to send their children in wearing green on this day.

Pre-cut 4/5 small shamrocks and hold punch in the center. Pre-cut yarn (about 15") and some straw sections (about 1"). Knot the yarn on one end and wrap tape around the other end. Let the children thread the yarn through and pattern with them.......shamrock, straw, shamrock, straw, etc. until all pieces are on. Tie the yarn in a loop at the end. You have made a Leprechaun Ladder and a sprinkle of baby powder will convince everyone that the leprechauns danced on it and left some special leprechaun dust. Surely they would have left some "gold" somewhere on the premises.

Cut out 4 green hearts per child. Talk about St. Patrick's Day and being lucky. Have each child tell you 4 things that they think they are lucky to have. Write one thing on each heart. Attach the hearts together to form a four leaf clover. Put a green pipe cleaner on for a stem and have them bring them home for the families.
