2-22-01Create a cowboy hat shape from brown construction paper. Using a wet tea bag, let children "paint" their cowboy hat to give it a weathered look.
2-22-01Create a cactus shape from green construction paper. Using green paint and a plastic fork, "paint" needles on the cactus. Add a flower or two with balls of yellow or pink tissue paper.
2-9-01Here in Texas the rodeo is a big thing. Glue a cutout of the state of Texas on construction paper. Tape to the inside of a disposable aluminum pan with a clear plastic cover. Put in three marbles you have dipped in red, white, and blue tempera paint. Put lid on securely. Let the children shake, rattle, and roll the marbles. They love this one. Can be used with lots of other ideas and makes a great splatter painting.
