2-9-01Kids can never start appreciating nature too early. As a day theme, which can be repeated with difference variations, one can do the following : 1) Make an outing into the garden or elsewhere where flowers, leaves and other interesting things can be collected. These can then be pressed, then arranged and pasted to create pictures. This will help them to appreciate all the different colors and shapes in nature. 2) They can also learn about the different textures in nature by feeling different surfaces, and making rubbings, by placing a piece of paper over a surface and rubbing a crayon over it. 3) To learn more about animals in nature, one can tell stories, and then have movement activities, where you can play music which will help them think of the animal, to which they can move with the music, acting like the animal. 4) "A Song for Seasons" can be taught to the children with actions 5) Snacks for the day can be made to imitate things in nature, to make things more fun and interesting 6) One can have a group chat time at the end of the day where each toddler can tell of what was the favorite thing they learnt or did during the day, and what they like best about nature.
