2-12-01Place some items into a Christmas stocking that are easily distinguished by touch. Ask your toddler to reach into the stocking and find a specific item. They are presently surprised when they pull out the right thing and they enjoy the praise.
2-12-01String some jingle bells onto a string and tie it so it makes a ring. This is easy for a toddler to hold and also less likely that a small jingle bell will slip off. Toddlers will love to ring the bell and sing to the tune of Mary had a little lamb. "I can shake my jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell, I can shake my jingle bell all around." Then have them shake it high and shake it low or shake it on their elbow or on their head or on any place you want to teach the name of.
