Songs The Animals at the Zoo Tune: The Wheels on the Bus

The snake at the zoo goes Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss
The Snake at the zoo goes Hiss Hiss Hiss
All day long

The lion at the zoo goes Roar Roar Roar Roar Roar Roar
The lion at the zoon goes Roar Roar Roar
All day long (Add other animals)

100 Animals I went to the zoo And what did I see? 100 animals Looking at me. There were, 10 tall giraffes, eating from the trees. 10 silly monkeys, scratching on their knees. 10 sleeping snakes, lying in the sun. 10 munching elephants, eating peanuts one by one. 10 leaping tigers, performing in the shows, 10 pink flamingos, standing on their toes. 10 grouchy bears, trying to get some sleep.

Poems: Great Expectations It’s time to say good-bye. Our class has come to an end. I’ve made more cherished memories And many more friends. I've watched your children learn and grow And change from day to day. I hope that all the things we’ve done Have helped in some small way. So it’s with happy memories I send them out the door, With great hope and expectations For what next year holds in store. End of year Poem You’re a very special person, And I wanted you to know, How much I enjoyed being your teacher. How fast the years did go !Please come back to visit me As through the grades you grow, Try hard to learn all that you can There is so much to know ! The one thing I tried to teach you To last your whole life through, Is to know that you are SPECIAL There is no one else like you ! Your Teacher I'm glad I was your teacher I've come to love you so. I can't believe the end is here. I hate to see you go.

Remember all the fun we had in all the things we did, But most of all remember... You're a very special kid!

The Animal Fair: (This is an oldie and I just put this one to my own tunes since I didn't remember the original one)

I went to the animal fair, the birds and beasts were there.
The big baboon by the light of the moon, was combing his auburn hair.
You ought to have seen the monk, he climbed up the elephants trunk,
The elephant sneezed and fell to his knees
And what became of the monk, the monk, the monk.

I made up this chant and did it with my Mommy and Me class I teach (Hi Christina and Maddie; Lisa and Lauren; Andrea and Michael; Jenny and Joseph; Carolyn and Melissa; Sandy and Javier; Ana and Naomi; Catherine and Jeri and Dan; Ilene and Mark).  They had lots of fun :)

Oh I went to the zoo
And what did I see?
I saw a great big tiger
Lookin' at me
He went
Raaaar  raaar raar raar
He went
Raaaar  raaar raar raar
He went
Raaaar  raaar raar raar
And that's what he said to me!

Oh I went to the zoo
And what did I see?
I saw a great big monkey
Lookin' at me
He went
Ooooooo ooooooo ooooooo
He went
Ooooooo ooooooo ooooooo
He went
Ooooooo ooooooo ooooooo
And that's what she said to me!

Oh I went to the zoo
And what did I see?
I saw a great big .............................
Lookin' at me
He went.......................

Ask the children to come up with their own zoo animal and the sound it makes!

My Preschool 3's just loved singing this song. We even did it for an open house and the parents loved it as much as the kid.

The snake at the zoo goes Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss Hiss The Snake at the zoo goes Hiss Hiss Hiss All day long

The lion at the zoo goes Roar Roar Roar Roar Roar Roar The lion at the zoon goes Roar Roar Roar All day long

This song can go on as long as you can think of zoo animals and there sounds

Here are a couple of cute songs for you and your little guys to sing during your zoo unit...

THE ELEPHANT Sung to:"The Mulberry Bush"

The elephant goes like this and that, this and that, this and that. (Walk heavily and stomp feet) The elephant goes like this and that, cause he's so big and he's so fat! (Puff up cheeks and stretch out arms)

He has no fingers and has no toes, He has no fingers and has no toes. (Wiggle fingers; wiggle toes) He has no fingers and has no toes, But goodness, gracious, what a nose! (Pull hands out from face to suggest a long trunk.)

UNDERNEATH THE MONKEY TREE Sung to: "The Muffin Man"

Come and play a while with me, Underneath the monkey tree. Monkey See and Monkey Do, Just like monkeys in the zoo.

Swing your tail, one, two, three, Underneath the monkey tree. Monkey See and Monkey Do, Just like monkeys in the zoo.

Jump around and smile like me, Underneath the monkey tree. Monkey See and Monkey Do, Just like monkeys in the zoo.
