Idea:

When our class studies the letter X we make "hand x-rays" on black construction paper by tracing around each students hand with white chalk, then painting the palm of their hand white and making a print inside the first tracing. Then on the same large piece of construction paper the children try making their own letter x. Spraying the finished art with hairspray keeps the chalk from making such a mess in backpacks and at home.

Idea:

To make an x-ray we paint the child's hand and arm white and press down on black construction paper. The children love the way it looks like a real x-ray. We do this art activity the same week we learn the letter X.
