After Reading the story Growing Vegetable soup we gather all the vegies grown in the book either by children bringing them from home or by making a trip to the local supermarket. We then proceed to wash, cut, and prepare the vegies for cooking. We place them in a pot with a few cans of Vegie broth and cook them up enjoying the smells as the soup cooks. When its ready we enjoy our creation with our lunch.

Gather different veggies, like tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, radishes, asparagus, broccoli etc. Help children dice them and feel texture. Taste! Make a veggie tray for lunch, add different dips. Children will usually try different veggies when they help prepare them.
