This is a choo-choo train (bend arm at elbow) Puffing down the track. (rotate arms in rhythm) Now it's going forward, Now it's going back. (push arms in appropriate directions; continue rotating motion) Now the bell is ringing, (pull bell cord) Now the whistle blows (make sound) What a lot of noise it makes Everywhere it goes! (cover ears) Contact_FullName: Carolyn Contact_Email: blueiizs@yahoo.com Area: Transportation Idea: Fingerplay--The Trip Wash the car, Make it shiny and bright. Oh, what a sight! Twinkle Twinkle Little Start Contact_FullName: Catherine Contact_Email: TheCat959@aol.com Area: Transportation Idea: My 2 1/2 year old and I came up with different things to add to the traditional "The Wheels on the Bus" song and they love it. We sing: 1. Wheels go round and round 2. Rain on the windshield goes drip drop 3. Door goes open and shut 4. Money goes clink, clink, clink 5. Driver says "Move on back" 6. People go up and down 7. Babies go wah, wah, wah 8. Mommies go shh, shh, shh 9. Daddies say "I love you" 10. Horn goes beep, beep, beep 11. Wipers go swish, swish, swish My kids also love being able to pick the order that it goes in. Little Airplane (Tune: Frere Jacques) Little airplane, little airplane,
7-15-00I'm a little piece of tin
7-10-00I have seen a number of versions of this song, but this is my favorite, and the most popular with our children. (to the tune : Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light
4-15-00Children can use their arms to act out this poem: Red on top, green below red says stop, green says go! yellow says wait even it you're late! When we say go, the kids can run around the room in their pretend cars.
Date: 3-30-00(To the tune of Old MacDonald) Pete the Pilot has a plane. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. And on that plane there are some wings. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. With a zoom, zoom, here......Other verses: Dan the driver has car, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, (car has a horn)...The engineer has a train, chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, (has a smokestack) etc. etc. We had fun using our own names in the song!!
ideaAct out the song "The Wheels on the Bus". Line up the children's seats in rows; resembling bus seating. Sing along with the children while doing the actions: The driver on the bus says move on back (Take your hitchhiking hand motion and direct it over your shoulder). The doors go open and shut (make your hand wave sideways) The babies on the bus go Whah, whah, whah (clenched fist to eyes, turning in and out) The mommies on the bus go Sshh, sshh, shh (index finger to mouth) etc... My two and three year olds love this because the seating makes them feel like they are really on the bus.
1-16-00Twinkle Twinkle Traffic Light ( tune:Twinkle Twinkle Little Star) Twinkle twinkle traffic light Round the corner shining bright. Red means stop, green means go, and yellow means go very slow. Twinkle twinkle traffic light round the corner shining bright. Contact_FullName:
