For recycling, we had a hard time finding math Date: 3-30-00s, so I invented a type of patterning game using pop tabs. Simply glue 4 pop tabs onto a stiff card, like a cue card, in different patterns, and ask the children to copy it using extra tabs provided. Extra fun was when the children switched around cards to try different patterns. I also encouraged the children to make their own patterns, and to copy each others. Another method to do this would be with multicolored pop bottle lids.

Lacing Lids "Recycle milk-jug lids for a patterning activity that's tops. Encourage your little ones to help save colored lids from milk jugs. When you have collected a large assortment of colored lids drill a hole in the center of each lid. Then have youngsters create patterns by stringing the lids onto shoelaces. This is an inexpensive learning tool can be used again and again.
