Idea:

When we are talking about rainbows, we made rainbow toast.

All you need is a loaf of bread, food coloring and a toaster.

pour milk in small cup, and add food coloring in each cup (use all the colors of the rainbow. Have the children use small clean paint brushes and have then create their own picture on a piece of bread, then toast the bread. The children love eating their art project, it's a neat way to get kids to eat toast.

Idea:

For a fun rainbow snack place different colored skittles and marshmallows in a ziploc bag. The skittles are the rainbow, and marshmallows are the clouds.

Idea:

When I teach rainbows and colors, I teach one color a day. Each day for the science lesson, the children make Jell-O. Day one we do red and make cherry Jell-O, etc. Each child get their own clear plastic cup and pour a bit of Jell-O in their cup and place in the refrigerator. Each day, add the next color. At the end of the unit, the children will eat their own rainbow!

idea

Rainbow Bananas-You will need half a banana for each child and one package of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple Jell-O. There are seven colors in the rainbow red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Blue and purple can be mixed to make violet. Cut each banana half into seven pieces. Have the children dip each piece into the Jell-O. The longer the Jell-O sits on each piece of banana, the brighter the color becomes. After dipping the bananas in the Jell-O mix, ask the children to put them in the order of a rainbow.
