idea

I like to make Rainbow stew with my kindergartners to help them see how the colors of the rainbow are made.  To do this you will need a Ziploc freezer baggie for each child. Make three batches of the stew and color each batch with either red, yellow or blue food coloring. Cool completely before putting in the baggies.

Rainbow Stew: Cook Together: 2 cups water 1/3 cup sugar 2/3 cup corn starch Food coloring-either red, yellow or blue. Use at least 1-2 teaspoons of liquid food coloring for intense color. When cool, put a spoonful of each color in the baggie, push out air and seal. Children can blend colors as they squish with the baggie with their fingers. On e batch of each color is enough for about 12-16 children-one Tablespoon per child per color.
