This is a sorting game. Have 1 picnic basket and a plastic tub in the center of students sitting in a circle. In a shopping bag, have an item for each student, some that belong in a picnic basket and some that do not belong in a picnic basket. Each student picks an item from the shopping bag with closed eyes and hides it behind their back. They each have a turn to sort their item by putting it into the picnic basket if it belongs there or putting it in the tub if it is not a picnic item. Some items you could provide might include: paper plate, mustard, toy food, a paintbrush, a block, a calendar. Each child should name their item, tell it's function and then put it in either the basket or tub.
