Idea:

Five Little Lobsters (to the tune of 5 Little Pumpkins)

Five little lobsters sitting on a rock.

The first one says, " I don't have time to talk"

The second one says, "There are fishies over there."

The third one says, "But we don't care"

The fourth one says, "Let's swim and swim and swim"

The fifth one says, "We don't have any fins!"

Then swish went their tails and snap went their claws.

The five little lobsters strolled out of sight.

Five little fishes (hold up five fingers) swimming in the sea (one hand to be fish swimming side to side) teasing Mr. shark (hands by head, thumbs in ears, wiggle back and forth) "can't catch me" (shake index finger) along came Mr. shark (two hands together prayer style swimming back and forth) quiet as can be, (hold index finger to lips) snap, snap, snap (clap hands together like a shark's mouth) now there's four little fishes swimming in the sea (hold up four fingers)

count down one fish at a time and then at the end of one little fishie swimming in the sea, instead of no more fishes you sing... "now Mr. shark said I'm full" (rubbing tummy)

Idea:

I teach 3,4 and 5y/o and they love this song:

The hand movements are simple, for the slippery fish just put your two hands together, prayer style, and glide them thru the air. Jelly fish, hook your thumbs and let your fingers be the tentacles. Tuna fish is your two hands, fingertips touching, to give the impression of a bigger fish, Great White, flat palms at right angels and enoromous whale, whole arm in opening and shutting motion - Each time a fish is eaten, you need to make the noises, and movements and go on with the song, until the end, when the whale burps and says... Excuse Me!

Slippery fish, slippery fish

swimming in the water

A slippery fish, a slippery fish

Gulp, gulp

OH NO! He's been eaten by a

Jellyfish, a jelly fish

swimming in the water

A jelly fish, a jelly fish

gulp, gulp

OH NO! He's been eaten by a

Tuna fish, a tuna fish

swimming in the water

A tuna fish, a tuna fish

gulp, gulp

OH NO! He's been eaten by a

Great White Shark, a great white shark

swimming in the water

A great white shark, a great white shark

gulp, gulp, gulp

OH NO! He's been eaten by an

Enormous Whale, an enormous whale

Spouting in the water

Enormous Whale, enormous whale

Gulp, gulp, BURP!

Excuse ME!

This song was song, or chanted by my class for the entire year, they never tired of being the different predators. And who wouldn't love the chance to burp!

Fred the Fish

(the Beverly Hillbillies tune)

Long time ago,

There lived a fish named Fred,

Made of many colors,

Yellow, blue and red.

He swam through the ocean,

Swimming wild and free,

Away from the fishermen,

They wanted him you see.

Fred-

He was-

Blue and red-

Wild and free!

A Sailor Went To Sea

A Sailor went to sea, sea, sea. To see what he could see, see, see. But all that he could see, see, see. Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea. (Whenever we sing "sea or see" we bring our hand to our forehead like a salute. We sing it three times, each time a little bit faster. On the 4th time, we sing all of the words except for "sea or see". When we get to these words we zip our lips but still do the salute.

Music- " Down by the Shore" (tune of "Down by the Bay"

Down by the shore

In the sand and the sun

I like to dive and splash and run

roll out and in

I'll get warm in the sun

To "The Wheels on the Bus"

The sharks in the sea go chomp, chomp, chomp!

chomp, chomp, chomp!

chomp, chomp, chomp!

The sharks in the sea go chomp, chomp, chomp!

All through the day!

We had the kids tell us different sea creatures and this is what they told us:

The fish in the sea go swim, swim, swim...

The lobsters in the sea go pinch, pinch, pinch...

The octopus in the sea go wiggle wiggle wiggle...

The sea horse in the sea rocks back and forth...

The whale in the sea goes quirt squirt squirt...

The clam in the sea goes open and shut...

The crabs in the sea go click click click...

The jellyfish in the sea go "bloop bloop bloop"!

Take Me Out To The Ocean (Tune:  Take Me Out To The Ball Game)

Take me out to the ocean

Take me out there right now

Show me the sand and some sea shells too,

I hear a sea gull and boat that goes toot!

There are surfers riding the big waves,

And, I'm glad I came!

Oh, it's one, two, three, build a sand castle

At the ocean today!
