Create a Face:

You will need: 1.white paper plates (face) 2. apple or orange slices for mouth 3. peeled mini-carrots for nose 4. small pretzels for ears 5. banana slices with a dab of peanut butter and raisin for eyes 6. shredded cheddar cheese for hair. Have the children draw in crayon their face and then make their face with food. Big hit with our preschool class.

To encourage Happy Healthy smiles, and practice some fine motor skills, also listening and following directions. help the children to create Apple Smiles.

You will need: Shiny Red Apples [cut in wedges] with skins on. Peanut butter or strawberry flavored fluff Mini marshmallows Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors for spreading.

Now give each child 2 lips - shiny red apple wedges. Have them spread one side of each wedge with peanut butter or strawberry flavored fluff [looks like gums] Then have them count out 5 mini marshmallows. Place the marshmallows on one wedge close to the edge. Now stick the other wedge [which has already been spread with PB or Fluff] to the marshmallows. You should now have a Happy Healthy smile. Note: if you have any children in your class with a visible missing tooth, you could step in and help personalize their smile by removing a marshmallow from the smile - then show them the likeness in a mirror!

idea

Fun snack idea for all about me is to take gingerbread cookie cutters and cut out wonder bread people then paint them with milk and food coloring. Can be toasted and color still shows up.
