Then we talked about how it makes you feel when you use manners. Happy-then I had all the children draw a picture of themselves. They drew happy children and we put them on a bulletin board that said" Using our manners make us Happy!" Contact_FullName: Veronica Contact_Email: veronicaoh@msn.com Area: Manners-Art Idea: My class did sneezing faces. I used a paper plate and the kids drew their face. You can use magazines to cut out eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. Add some hair with yarn or string. Then I traced their hand and glued it to the mouth of the paper plate with a tissue in between the hand and mouth. This makes a great class book during the cold and flu season. Contact_FullName: Karla Contact_Email: famsprouse@aol.com Area: Manners-Art Idea: Let the children do polite partner painting. Put out paints for the children to use with only one brush per color. Tell the children that they are going to paint one piece of paper together and share the paints politely. Contact_FullName: Kate Nowinski Contact_Email: katenowinski@aol.com Area: Manners-Art Idea: Have each child trace a large circle on pink/peach paper, this will be their face. Each child should cut out the circle and use markers to draw their face on the circle. You can even have them glue on yarn for hair. Then have each child glue a tissue to the mouth area, and then glue a pre-cut hand on top of the tissue. This will help all of your friends remember to use a tissue and cover their mouth when they sneeze.
