10-7-00This is sung to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" All the leaves are falling down, As you sing this, you can have the children slowly turn and twirl as they lower to the ground. (It's a good "wind down" song after more active songs.)
10-7-00Harvest Songs/Poems areaLeaves are falling, Leaves are falling.
10-7-00" Autumn Leaves" (London Bridge) Autumn leaves are falling down,
falling down, falling down.( arms up high like a tree then lower as song
goes on ) 1 little leaf, 2
little leaves, 3 little leaves today. 4 little leaves, 5 little leaves,
10-7-00"The Leaves Are Falling Down" (The Farmer and the Dell) The leaves
are falling down, the leaves are falling down.
10-7-00"Oh, When The Leaves" (When The Saints) Oh, when the leaves, fall off
the trees.
10-7-00This is a favorite! Start out normal then faster each time. Raise arms up like a tree then gradually fall down and touch the ground. Leaves are falling, falling down, Falling, falling to the ground.
10-6-00My daughter came up with this idea for a catchy tune for fall (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) Leaves are falling all around
10-3-00This is a variance to the "Five Little Pumpkins" Song, for those centers that don't celebrate Halloween. Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (five fingers up)
9-30-00My children learned this in preschool and now I use this when talking about squirrels with my Preschoolers. Brown squirrel, Brown squirrel Swoosh your bushy tail (hold elbow in your other hand and move your arm back and forth) Brown squirrel, brown squirrel Swoosh your busy tail Put a nut between your toes Wrinkle up your little nose Brown squirrel, brown squirrel Swoosh your bushy tail.
9-26-00scarecrow rhyme: The funny, funny scarecrow guards his field all day, he waves his floppy, floppy (arms) to scare the crows away! You can substitute legs, head, hands, etc. for the floppy part of the scarecrow. we had a lot of fun with this rhyme!
9-9-00This is a great action verse. I rake and rake and rake the leaves
Red, yellow, orange & green, Can you guess what I've just seen? Autumn colors in the air, Autumn colors everywhere. Have the children collect colorful leaves and place the poem with leaves on clear contact paper. Cover with a second sheet of clear contact paper and add a string using a hole punch. I put two copies of the poem back to back so that the poem can be read from either side if it is hung away from the wall. Date: 11-6-99
