12-12-00During a family unit in Kindergarten I did a math lesson that involved puppets. The kids cut out people shapes and dressed them in clothes that had corresponding stripes (on the shirt) and numbers (on the pants). After they made their puppets they played number games in which the puppets were named "Mrs. Six" and "Mr. Three". They had a lot of fun and practiced reading the numbers over and over during they puppet play.
9-8-00I have asked the parents to send along a couple of pictures of themselves when they were kids so that the kids can play the game of trying to match up the parents with the child. It is funny for the kids to realize that their parents were little too and often the family resemblance is uncanny.
9-1-00The family song (farmer in the dell tune) The father's in the
house the father's in the house la, la, la, la, la, la, the father's in
the house. |
