Create a desert sensory bottle by adding sand, and small plastic lizards and snakes found at the dollar store.

If you live in the desert, show the children how hot it REALLY gets in the summertime!   Take an egg outside either on the sidewalk OR on the pavement and crack it open.   If it is hot enough, it WILL FRY!  LOL!  This was one of my favorite activities during the hot summers in Phoenix!
