11-12-00Circle time: Have 3 children hold up shapes/pictures of sun, moon, and chimney top. The traditional song goes like "Sally goes round the sun, Sally goes around the moon, Sally goes round the chimney top every afternoon." We substitute child's name or if more than one child goes around we say "children go round"....the children enjoy going around as well as holding the shapes.
Date: 2-26-00Catch A Shadow: Have the children run around outside and try to step on each other's shadows. Experiment with what happens when you sit down or stand in the shadow of a tree, etc.
Date: 2-26-00Night Time Hide and Seek: Play hide and seek in a semi-dark room. Have the person who is it use a flashlight to help finding the others.
