Cut out coupons from the paper or grocery store coupon books and laminate (mactac). Create a grocery store prop box and put them in there with other grocery items and the kids can play with them and use them in their pretend store.

Teacher Prep:

1.  Save your Sunday paper coupons.  Cut out the coupons.  Secure them to index cards with a glue stick.  For added durability, you can cover them with clear contact paper OR laminate.  

2.  Ask the parents in your class to save the empty containers of each item on the coupons.

3.  Clean each empty container.

4.  Place the empty containers AND the coupons that match in your dramatic play center.  Have the children shop for each item on their coupon cards.
