I like the creamy filling in a chocolate Oreo. Yum!

Idea:

Oh, once I ate a lion, then a tall giraffe, and when I ate the elephant he really made me laugh. well you may think I'm silly but I'll tell you the truth, they were animals crackers and you can eat them too!! (sung to the tune of 99 bottles of pop on the wall.)

I use cookie shapes cut out of different colors of felt and I decorate them with fabric paint. Then at circle time I use the flannel board and do this poem:

Five little cookies With frosting galore. ___________ ate the red one Then there were four.

Four little cookies, Two and two you see. __________ ate the green one Then there were three.

Three little cookies But before I knew, _________ ate the white one, Then there were two.

Two little cookies, Oh what fun, _________ ate the brown one, Then there was one.

I use the kids names and have them come up and get a felt cookie. I do this as many times as it takes for everyone to have a chance to come up and get a cookie. For valentines day I do "Heart" cookies instead of little cookies. One little cookie One and only one, _________ ate the yellow one, Then there are none.

(Child replies)  It wasn't just me.
Then who?
(Child names another child)_________ helped me bake the cookies in the cookie jar!

Continue until everyone has had a chance to be in the chant :)
