First we make our Clifford headbands, practicing cutting the oval, round or hear ears and staple onto a decorated head band, Tissue paper, painted, markers etc. After reading "Clifford's First Day of School" each child wears their Clifford ears, get a black nose if they like, and then tip over a cup of yellow paint on a a large piece of paper and go for it! Assemble so it looks like Clifford. Give kids markers to add Clifford's mouth. When dry give each child one large black nose and a pair of large wiggle eyes (or make large construction paper eyes) and have them glue on their paper. Add a smile and you have a Clifford. Kids are amazed that they painted Clifford and parents think it's cute, too.
