Contact_FullName: Sara Contact_Email: saraw83@aol.com Area: Caterpillars Idea: Since the book "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" has the holes punched out of the book, I used a homemade "caterpillar" made of green and red pipe cleaners while reading to the children. For each of the different types of food, allow a child to come and put the "caterpillar" through the holes as if it is eating! Contact_FullName: Becky Ziegler Contact_Email: beckyvball12@hotmail.com date:: 05/03/02 Area: story Idea: Read the story "A very Hungry Caterpillar" to the children. Hold up a caterpillar puppet while reading the story to the children. Cut out of construction paper all the food the caterpillar ate in the story. Make a hole in these cutouts big enough to go around your wrist. As you read have the students bring up the food pieces and feed them to the caterpillar by putting them around your wrist.
