Mother's Day Tea Last year we had a Mother's Day Tea Party at our center. The children got to serve their mom's yummy treats and tea. We had pretty tablecloths, napkins, and flowers. The food consisted of cookies, and baked goods, tea and coffee. Then when mom was leaving, their child presented them with a carnation tied with a ribbon on the stem, with a poem attached. It was such a success, we are doing it again this year ! What was really nice about this tea party, was our mom's were able to get to know one another, on a more personal level. We also had a Father's Day Fest in June !

For a Mother's or Father's Day activity, have the children prepare a simple meal. Grilled cheese, celery and peanut butter, crackers... any simple food that they helped to prepare. Make invitations, place cards, decorated napkins, anything to add to the party feel. The special parent is treated to a meal, and the kids can learn about healthy eating, food preparation, table setting, as well as making crafts to go with it all.
