Mardi Gras Math Activities: I am from New Orleans and I teach pre-school so I have several! Doubloon sorting: Use the doubloons (shiny coins from Mardi Gras) to sort by color or design. Bead sorting: We use buckets to sort Mardi Gras beads by color, size, patterns, shapes of the beads etc. Bead Patterns: We use patterned beads to duplicate the color pattern with colored bears or wooden beads. If I think of more, I will send them! Enjoy!

Mardi Gras Math ideas: Cut different length sections from Mardi Gras bead necklaces. Have the children arrange them from longest to shortest. The children can count the number of beads on each section and put them into a container labeled with that numeral.
