Idea:

I explain why we eat matzah and why the Jewish people could not wait for the bread to rise. We then go around and talk about what they would bring if they had to go away on short notice. I tell them beforehand that their families will be going with them. Their answers are very interesting and tell you a lot about what is important to them.

Idea:

I use a dye- cut machine to cut out frogs on green construction

paper and have the children tape them all over the room to

represent one of the plagues. If you don't have a dye-cut

machine, you can make the frogs using a frog pattern and

painting it green. The children love this activity and it's great for all ages. I do it with toddlers!

This is an idea for a Passover circle time activity. Place a doll for Baby Moshe into a basket. Tell the story of how Baby Moshe was put into a basket by his mother so that he could be saved. I usually sing a song along with the story about how sad his mother was to be sending her baby away. There is a very nice song on the tape "Mostly Matzah" that I have used. After I sing the song, and explain the story, I ask the children what they think Baby Moshe could have used in his basket to keep him happy while he was away from his mother. I ask the children, one at a time, to go bring something for Baby Moshe to use. I ask them to tell me why he would want it. When all of the children are done, I tell them that now Baby Moshe can be happy, and I leave the basket and toys out for the children to play with.
