Make 4 colored peppers. yellow, green, red, and orange. punch holes in these peppers and have children lace them onto string. They can be hung in the center or at home outside the door. They hang these peppers outside their doors in Mexico. (real ones)

Cinco De Mayo is the perfect time to make a piñata. In the past, I have done a simple paper lunch bag, stuffed with paper, and glue crepe paper or tissue onto it for whatever animal or figure you would be creating. We did a bird, and just attached the head and beak made of construction paper. Then attach streamers for decoration, and don't forget a string so it can hang.
