Here's a song that my kids love to act out as they sing...

Bunny, bunny, bunny, you're so funny With your twitching nose (wiggle nose) Bunny, bunny, bunny, you're so funny From your head (point to head) to your toes (bend over and touch toes)

Bunny, bunny, bunny your ears are funny (make bunny ears with hands on top of head) They're too big for you...

Bunny, bunny, bunny, you're so funny... Everyone loves you (kids hug themselves)

Ohhhhhh Ohhhhhhhh Bunny is very funny!
I said the Easter Bunny is very funny.
Come on Easter Bunny.
You are very funny!

My kids love this song.

Eggbert the Easter Egg

Eggbert the Easter Egg Was a teeny little Easter Egg. Cutest thing you ever saw In the window of a big department store.

All day the children came. Noses pressed against the window paid. Spoke to Eggbert but Alas! Eggbert cried because he couldn't answer back.

But all at once the clouds rolled by to let the sun shine through. Believe it or not! It got so hot that Eggbert split it two!

Out popped a baby chick. A teeny weeny little baby chick. And the children heard him say: "Eggbert wishes you a Happy Easter Day!"

A simple idea, but in case you haven't thought of it try the Bunny Pokey with your class. You can use bunny ears, bunny paws, bunny feet, bunny nose, fluffy (or bunny) tail, and any other bunny parts. My class loves doing the Bunny Pokey.

Here is a fun Easter tune called "Hippoty-Hoppity Easter Bunny" It is sung to the tune of the "Eensy,Weensy Spider". The children sing this song seated with legs out stretched and hands touching toes. It goes like this

The Hippoty Hopity Easter Bunny is coming straight and me. Closer and closer he hops up on my knee. Up to my shoulder the Bunny's much to near. Happy Easter, he whispers in my ear.

(As the children sing this song, their hands hop from their feet to their knees and eventually to their shoulders and ears. They absolutely love it!!!!!)

Jelly Bean Stew

I'm making Jelly Bean stew
And this is what I'll add
Every color of jelly beans
All the kinds I've had

We'll put in a pinch of magic
One rainbow, finely diced
And to add to the mixture
A little sugar and spice

Then to give it the right taste
We'll add a child's dream
Add some imagination
Now to let it steam

This is how to make Jelly Bean Stew
In a imaginary way
This will make you smile
And maybe brighten your day

I have children stand in a line (shoulder to shoulder and wearing bunny ears) while we sing the following song that I made up. At the end of each verse, I point to one bunny, who then hops back to his/her mother! We count the number of bunnies left and do it over!

"There were eight little bunnies a-sittin' on a hill, Eight little bunnies were oh-so still. They sniffed the air, and one hopped away; How many bunnies were left to play?"

Good at Easter time. I make jelly bean shapes out of flannel to use with each color. First I explain that Al and Etta are two little bunnies that go out with baskets to find jelly beans. Sing to the tune of "Alouette". Al and Etta both go out to get a basket full of jolly jelly beans. Jolly jelly beans of green, that's exactly what I mean. Beans of green, beans of green. OHHHH. Continue to sing the song with other colors. I usually show the colored bean shape and pause to let the children say the color.

Other colors are: Beans of pink, that's exactly what I think Beans of blue, that is truly truly true Beans of red, that's exactly what I said Beans of orange, nothing really rhymes with orange Beans of orange, beans of orange OHHHH, that's the end of our song!

Five Little Easter Bunnies Five little Easter bunnies standing at the door One boils the eggs and then there are four. Four little Easter bunnies sitting under a tree. One dyes the eggs and then there are three. Three little Easter bunnies wondering what to do. One decorates the eggs and then there are two. Two little Easter bunnies, of what fun. One puts the eggs in a basket, and then there was one. One little Easter bunny, what can you say? He hides the eggs for a happy Easter day!

Here's a terrific little song that children love to sing and act out. It's great for Easter time or when doing an animal theme.

(Children laying on floor pretending to be asleep) All the bunnies fast asleep, All the bunnies not a peep, If I should sing my song today, Will all those bunnies get up and play? (Children get up and hop around room) Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping, Get up little bunnies hop, hop, hop, Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping, Get up little bunnies hop and stop!

This song can be adapted to any animal e.g. chicks chirping kangaroo's hopping dinosaurs stomping etc........

sung to the tune of I'm a little Teapot.

I'm a little chickie, (crouch down inside your egg) Ready to hatch
Pecking at my shell (Pecking motion)
Scratch, scratch, scratch! (scratching motion)
When I crack it open, Out I'll jump (jump out of shell)
fluff my feathers, cheap, cheap, cheap!

Bunny Baby bunny bounces high (jump high)
Baby bunny bounces low; (jump low)
Baby bunny blinks his eyes; (blink eyes)
Baby bunny waves good-bye. (wave good-bye)

I got this fingerplay from a book (sorry, I don't remember which one) and use it every year.

Here is a bunny with ears so funny, ( put "bunny ears" behind your head with your two fingers)

And here is his hole in the ground. (Make a circle with thumb and forefinger)

When a noise he hears,

He pricks up his ears, (make "bunny ears" stand up straight)

And he jumps in his hole in the ground! (Make two fingers jump in "hole"-other two fingers)

The kids love this fingerplay!

Little Peter Rabbit    (tune-Battle Hymn of the Republic)

Little Peter Rabbit (use fingers to make bunny ears) had a fly (flap arms) upon his nose (point to nose),

(repeat 3 times)

And he flipped it (use fingers to flip away from your nose)

And it flew away! (flap arms)

I let my children sing this through once, then begin to do the motions instead of singing the words. For instance, we do motions only for "Little Peter Rabbit" (use fingers to make bunny ears) and sing the rest of the song:

Had a fly (flap arms) upon his nose (point to nose),  (repeat 3 times)

And he flipped it (use fingers to flip away from your nose)

And it flew away!(flap arms)

The next time we sing the song,we do motions only for "Little Peter Rabbit" and "fly". The following verse has motions instead of words for "Little Peter Rabbit","fly", and "nose".

This continues until there are motions only with few words in between. The children love to see if they can remember when to use motions and when to sing the words!

See I told you it was cute!!!!!!

Robbie the Rabbit

Robbie the rabbit is fat,fat,fat.

(Pat your belly)

His soft little paws go pat, pat, pat.

(Tap one hand with the other)

His soft little ears go flop, flop, flop.

(Arms over head, bend hands over and wave up & down)

And when Robbie runs he goes hop, hop, hop!

(Hop 3 X )

My little ones love this fingerplay because it is easy for them to remember and lots of movement involved.

Some days seem like winter,

Some are nice and warm.

Rainy days and windy days,

Maybe it will storm.

Warm or cold or wet or dry,

What will the weather be?

I think Spring is trying to play

Peek-a-boo with me!

l little, 2 little, 3 little bunnies, 4 little, 5 little, 6 little bunnies, 7 little, 8 little, 9 little bunnies, 10 little bunnies hopping up and down.

You can add other actions as you go along - jumping up and down, twirling around, standing on l foot..... the children love to give suggestions too.

We like to sing and do actions to the following.

5 little Easter eggs,

Lovely colors wore;

Mother ate the blue one,

Then there were four.

4 little Easter eggs,

Two and two, you see;

Daddy ate the red one,

Then there were three.

3 little Easter eggs,

Before I knew,

Sister ate the yellow one,

Then there were two.

Two little Easter eggs,

Oh, what fun!

Brother ate the purple one,

Then there was one.

1 little Easter egg,

See me run!!!

I ate the last one,

And then there was none.

I also use the children's names instead of the mother, daddy, etc.... We sing this to the tune of 5 Elephants went out to play. Have fun!!!

Sat upon a stump.

Flicked his floppy little ears

And then he gave a jump!
